Kendra Ann Ward Music Endowed Scholarship

This is a two-semester scholarship in the amount of:
Fall $750 Spring $750 and 375 for summer if in 6 hours

You must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible:

  • Music major
  • Must be enrolled full-time (12+ hrs)
  • Preference given to incoming freshmen
  • Full Time
  • GPA 2.75 minimum
  • Must have financial need
  • Must submit the FAFSA and have an EFC of 6250 or below
  • Preference given to applicant who will be playing an instrument as part of the Music degree program
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to pursue a 4-year bachelor degree in Music at a private or public college or university in the State of Texas
  • Commitment to community volunteerism and engagement
  • Scholarship recipients must first receive academic counseling and secure a baccalaureate degree plan in Music that shows how the Associate Degree plan fits within the overall baccalaureate degree plan
  • If scholarship recipients will participate in their graduation ceremonies, they are to invite Bradley and Fatima Ward or members of the Ward family to the ceremonies for both the Associate Degree and Baccalaureate Degree. Invitations may be extended through the Alamo Colleges Foundation

This scholarship, also comes with a $20,000 portable scholarship for your 4-year transfer university.
To be eligible for the transfer Kendra Ann Ward Music Scholarship, you must:

  • Complete 60 credit hours toward an Associate Degree in Music from one of the Alamo Colleges, and have a minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Provide Alamo Colleges Foundation with a degree requirement plan for a Bachelor’s degree in Music from a four-year institution in the state of Texas.
  • Submit an itemized tuition statement from the four-year institution to the Foundation, no later than two weeks before the payment is due at your transfer institution.
  • Submit each term class schedule.
  • After the 1st semester, you must submit your last semester graded and next semester class schedule and tuition & fee bill.
  • Meet the 2.75 GPS requirements and be enrolled full-time. (12+ hours)
  • Notify the Alamo Colleges Foundation of graduation from the 4-year institution.

Please note: You must meet the scholarship criteria and Standards of Academic Progress, or the scholarship may not be renewed.
